Grant proposals are by invitation of the Foundation only. Unsolicited proposals will not be reviewed. The first step in the process after receiving the invitation is to send an LOI, a one-page letter of inquiry describing your organization, intended project, anticipated costs, and tax-exempt status. This letter must be received by May 1st at the following address:

Common Sense Fund
10 Glenville Street, 1st Floor
Greenwich, CT 06831
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Applicants will be contacted regarding the Foundation's interest. An application will be sent once the LOI has been screened and accepted. Deadline for receipt of applications is June 15th. Grantmaking decisions are made in July. Organizations will be notified shortly thereafter.

A declination should not be considered a reflection upon the merits of the organization or the specific proposal.

The Foundation operates on a yearly cycle. Organizations may only submit one application per year. Proposals received after the closing date for grant applications will not be considered.

Within ten months of receipt of a grant, all grantees must provide a report to the Foundation accounting for how the grant has been used, evaluation of outcomes, and lessons learned.
